Total Health Series: Complete Profile

The Total Health Series: Complete Profile is a combination of tests that provide a broad overview of your body’s health. With the results of these tests, you will be able to understand your risk profile for cardiac incidents, heart disease, liver or kidney problems, thyroid issues, and any issues with iron levels. This Complete Profile includes testing of homocysteine and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels. Homocysteine is an amino acid that can increase cholesterol, lead to arterial blockages and damage the artery lining. The CRP test measures chronic low-level inflammation and is a marker that helps estimate a chance of developing cardiovascular disease and risk of sudden heart attack.

What does the test include?

The Complete Profile is a set of tests which includes all of the tests in HealthCheckUSA’s Basic Package, but also adds two cardiac tests which are critical in determining risks of heart attacks. Included in the Complete Profile are the following:

This test also features HealthCheck USA’s Chem-26 analysis, which measures elements crucial to good heart, liver and kidney function:

The blood sample will be taken by a qualified technician and analyzed by an accredited medical laboratory. The results are confidential, and can be accessed on the HealthCheckUSA Web site within four business days after testing.

Who should be tested and what are the risks? If you have a risk of heart disease and your doctor needs additional information to decide whether to pursue diagnostic tests, it is strongly urged that you receive the Total Health Series: Complete Profile tests. Taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin or Advil, or statins to lower cholesterol may reduce your hs-CRP level. When testing, be sure that you are free of any illness, tissue injury, injections or general inflammation, as this will raise the amount of hs-CRP and give a false estimate for your risk of heart disease. If you have chronic inflammation from arthritis, your hs-CRP levels will likely be very high and you should not be test.

How do I take the test? A blood sample will be taken by a qualified technician and analyzed by an accredited medical laboratory. The results are, and will remain, confidential, and can be reviewed on the HealthCheckUSA website within four (4) business days after testing.
